Are you der experte?

Who gets the most clients; most bookings; highest fee; the most reverence? It's not your average run-of-the-mill person. It's der experte.

The Protege Program is the journey to that destination of expertise. And my job is simple (well, technically at least). My job is to do two things.

1) Give you you the tools to get to the level of expertise.
2) Help you through the minefield of mistakes.

Your job is to do the work. To take responsibility for your actions. Because I'll tell you something right at the start. If you don't participate in the forum; don't do your homework diligently (no matter how stressed you are); then you'll struggle.

First the struggle won't seem much
You'll just feel slightly behind the crowd. But hey, this Protege stuff is a lot like school. In school if you missed a few days, you fell behind your assignments. If you missed a week, catching up was quite a task. And if you missed a few weeks, you thought you felt so much pressure that you were paralysed.

The secret to getting ahead in the Protege (and your business)
It's regular work. Right after the class if you can (except you lot from the UK). Set aside a section of your time to do the assignments, and you'll start to see change. At first, the change won't seem visible. But over six months; a year; you'll see perceptible change.

If...and only if you do your assignments. Yes, the buck stops with you.

And yes, drop your pre-conceptions
I know some of you are audio learners. Some of you are visual learners. Some of you want to read the words. And just for a while, I want you to stop putting labels on yourself. Read the notes, listen to the audio, watch the videos. Each system has been put together to give you learning from different angles. If you pick and choose, you'll be the loser. And as with everything on the planet, there's a way to learn best.

Audio: Never sit down and listen to audio. Run, walk, wash dishes if you have to, when listening to audio. And remember that I listen to audio many, many times over. Sometimes as many as eight times over. And early in my career, I listened to a few tapes as many as fifty times over (And I label myself an audio learner). So make use of your downtime listening to audio repeatedly. Each time you listen, you'll learn more--because you've grown. And because you know more.

Notes: Each of the set of notes are written as if the audio doesn't exist. Your notes will contain graphics. They'll contain websites. They'll contain screen shots. And they'll contain what's going through my head at the time of writing the notes. Often the notes and the audio are like planes flying to the same destination. But at different heights. To experience both journeys, you'll need to read the notes as well as listen to audio. Yes, it's hard work, but hey you've been warned.

Video: Video takes time to create. So video learning is the smallest component. But heck it's vital. So when I give you video to watch, watch it.

And remember the Protege Program is a journey
It doesn't start and end with the year. Some of the previous Proteges have gone on to the Inner Circle. They've done so, because they've realised the value of an ongoing education. And no, you can't just join the Inner Circle at the end of this year. You'll have to prove that you're worthy of the Inner Circle. That you're worthy of the responsibilty of becoming der experte.

I'll help you.
The harder you work, the harder I'll work.
That's a promise.

So here's to the first step of the journey for the rest of your life...(yes, you're stuck with me for a while)

That's me, in a rather serious moment
