Tony Loxton on Psychotactics
I
thought the money back policy was a ploy

"I didn't set out to work with Psychotactics.
In fact, for months I had been searching for services that would
help our business. I found similar consultants, some of them even
specialised in tourism. Yet none of them provided me with an iota
of information. All I got was, 'This is
how much it is going to cost.' And all of their sites were
like online brochures.
I was really looking for something that could help
me. Now, it's not like their services didn't interest me. They had
good testimonials and seemed to be reliable. But there was nothing
in there that made me read the site or say, I can implement this
right away or this is a good idea, whereas, with your site I was
there for hours.
In fact, once I read the first page, I was hooked.
I was intrigued with the way you do things
Here was this huge online resource, and almost immediately I could
put so many things to use. I couldn't believe you were giving this
information for free. If you could give so much for free, I wondered
how much you had in your head.
I really found it very useful and it didn't take me very long to
figure out that what we needed wasn't someone specific to our industry.
We needed someone specific to us!
We reserve the right to fire you
as a client
I wasn't taken aback, but I could see you were serious when you
said that. You seem to demand results. You really want us to improve
our business. I thought it's fair to have that clause in the contract.
If we don't achieve what you know to be right for us, we shouldn't
be in business.
What really struck a chord was when you said, "I'm
going to guide you through." I think that's what's really happening.
It's a constant guiding process working with you.
You never spoon-feed us and I love
that concept
Hard work is not an issue. That's the basic for a business, but
you take the term Work smarter not harder to another level.
I'm actually learning.
You're not doing it for me. You guide us. You audit our communications.
You strip away the way we do things and best of all, you tell us
WHY.
Thats the biggest benefit. I now know how to spot mistakes a mile
off-and I used to make them without even realising it before. I'm
learning skills for a lifetime. Best of all, I'm not sitting back
and watching. I'm in the thick of things. The things that I am learning
now are going to stay with me forever.
Right from the first meeting I
was really excited
With most consultants, I wouldn't have a clue about what a first
meeting would cover. When I went to your meeting, I had jumped through
a lot of hoops, as you put it. I was quite excited. I didn't have
to look for the credibility factor. It was already there with all
the information you give freely.
Though I have to admit, I thought the money
back guarantee was a ploy
Initially, I did think the money back guarantee was a ploy. I mean,
what kind of person would give money back? I realised quickly you
were adamant about it. Also your concept of We
have no money, so we have to think.
I really like that! The fact, that you actually stop us from spending
and find ways to create profit out of our existing resources. I
mean, it's dead easy to spend thousands of dollars and get results.
You make it almost compulsory NOT to spend money. We're a small
business, and money and cash flow is always a big concern . Your
techniques help us really focus on how to create real dollar value
out of nothing at all.
And you reflected that in all your dealings. I couldn't
attend your workshop because of some pre-commitments. But I was
amazed at how you were willing to stand by what you say. You were
practicing what you preached. You weren't just asking us to give
a money back guarantee. You did it yourself with your hourly-back
guarantee, where you not only guarantee the workshop, but every
single hour in it. And that really builds confidence.
You gave us tons of value before
we even signed on the dotted line
First it was the website, then the phone conversations, then the
meeting in person and then the whole day you spent with me and the
directors of the company. That seven hour Friday meeting spoke for
itself. Even though we were a bit away from saying yes, you shed
a light on lots of stuff. You gave freely. That was a first for
us.
It wasn't a question of whether
but rather how...
We were convinced we wanted to work with you. Once you'd given us
the dollars and cents, it wasn't whether, but how do we make it
work for us? Your systems are unusual. I don't think I'll really
forget the incident where you had me and Jon doing our personal
and business goals at 4am, because we had to catch a flight in the
next two hours. That was quite an experience.
And the results speak for themselves...
Overall, a lot is changing here at Serious Fun. And not just in
the way we do things. But even at ground level, the response we
are getting from clients is noticeably better. I am hearing back
from at least 50% of the clients we write to via email. And that's
a much higher percentage than ever before.
These are people we don't know at all, and who have just had a look
at our website. Yet they are writing back saying things like, 'Thanks
so much for the useful info etc.... They are being really friendly!
It is working! It's a definite, measurable, marked improvement.
Quite a few of them are actually writing really long emails back
to me, like I am their long lost pal! We haven't had to make major
shifts, just gentle tweaks. The way you audit our communication
helps us get response from absolute strangers. I find that quite
amazing!
The learning is non-stop
The biggest benefit of working with you is the immense education.
There are all these additional resources, that you send us, that
have really opened my brain to a whole new world. It's changed my
attitude and the way we do things.
You talk about goals, strategic planning and get us to stick to
them. It's not solely about the business. It's about athe rest of
my life. Things that are crucial. Things that make really good sense.
It's about teaching a man to fish. And boy, am I learning!"
